Privacy Policy

This policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains the privacy practices for GoodMarket.global (the “Site”), progressive web app (the “App”), and Application Programming Interface (the “API”), which are collectively referred to as the “Services.” It explains what information may be collected through the Services, how the information is used and protected, under what circumstances the information may be disclosed to third parties, and users’ rights, choices, and responsibilites. The Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use (the “Terms”). By using any Good Market Services, even just browsing the website, you’re agreeing to the Terms.

This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties who you may choose to share information with when you use the Services. This include enterprises that sell through the community marketplace (“Sellers”), enterprises with network status that collect additional details about their members (“Networks”), service providers that use Good Market APIs (“API Users”), and links to external third party sites. Please note that the collection and use of your information by these third parties is subject to their own privacy policies and terms. Good Market has no control over and assumes no liability for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites, products or services. You should understand the privacy and security practices of any third party before you share information with them.

Subscription and marketplace payments are encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and are processed through secure third party payment gateways. Debit and credit card information is not stored or processed on Good Market servers and is not accessible to Sellers. Good Market is not liable for any unauthorized disclosure of such personal or financial information.

1. Collection of Information

In the course of providing Services, Good Market collects and receives information that directly or indirectly relates to you in different ways and from different sources. Details are provided below.

1.1 Information You Provide

You provide certain information to Good Market directly when you sign up for an account or otherwise use the Services.

Personal Account Information: An active email address and a user name are required to set up an account. Adding a preferred language, location, and currency is optional but improves the experience on the site. This information can be edited and updated from your personal account page.

Enterprise Profile Information: If you apply as an enterprise, the content you add in the application form will appear publicly on your enterprise profile page once your application is approved. If you add a marketplace listing, the content will appear publicly on your profile page, in the marketplace, and in the network marketplaces of any network you participate in. Profile and marketplace listing information can be edited and updated from your enterprise account page.

Network Information: If you are an approved enterprise with network status, any members you add to your network will appear publicly in your network directory and their marketplace listings will appear publicly in your network marketplace.

Community Information: If you add feedback to a profile page or participate in a forum, your personal account user name or your enterprise account brand name and any content you add will appear publicly.

Messages Information: If you contact an enterprise or the Good Market help desk, the content you share and receive will only be visible to the team members of the account you contacted.

Seller Information: If you are an approved enterprise that wants to receive payments, you will need to add bank details for payouts. If you want to sell physical products, you will need to add shipping details for order fulfillment.

Buyer Information: If you check out as a guest, you will need to add an email address. If you add a physical product to your cart, you will need to add a postal code and country to estimate tax and shipping. If you check out with a physical product, you will need to add a contact name, phone number, delivery address, and billing address. This information will be shared with the Seller(s) you purchase from.

Transaction Information: If you buy or sell using Good Market Services, information is collected about the order as part of your transaction history. This includes the buyer’s name, seller’s name, items purchased, purchase prices, and transaction dates.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Good Market automatically receives information from your browser or your mobile device when you visit the Site or use the App, even if you do not have a Good Market account.

Browser and Device Information: Good Market may receive browser and device information including IP address, device type, hardware model, operating system information, and browser language.

Service Usage Information: Good Market may collect information about interactions with the Site or App, access times, and service-related diagnostic, performance, and troubleshooting information.

Precise Location Information: Good Market uses precise geo-location data when you provide permission to do so through your browser or device settings.

Cookie Information: Good Market asks your browser to store a small piece of data on your device in order to remember information about session and improve functionality. See Section 5 for more details.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

Good Market receives some information from third parties.

Data Analytics: Good Market uses data analytics software to ensure functionality and improve services. This may record information about how often Services are used, interactions with the Services, aggregated usage, performance data, and errors and debugging information.

Third Party Services: Good Market may receive information when you choose to engage with third-party applications or integrations with other sites and apps. For example, when you use Google sign-in functionality, Good Market receives the affiliated email address and photo for that account.

Non-User Information: Good Market may obtain information about a person that has not yet visited the site or set up a account if a user enters an email address to send a gift card code or enters an address to send a gift.

Good Market operates as a digital commons and does not currently rent or sell any data, including aggregated anonymized data. This policy will not be changed unless there are requests from members, a consultation and approval process, and an update to this Privacy Policy.

Good Market may use personally identifying information in the following ways:

• Enable full access to the available Services
• Maintain and improve Services over time
• Respond to questions and provide help desk support
• Send administrative messages, technical notices, and Service related updates
• Send communications about new members, offers, and opportunities
• Provide a customized experience based on preferences
• Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activity
• Protect the safety, security, and integrity of Services
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
• Resolve disputes and ensure legal protection

Sharing of Information

 Good Market shares your data with third parties where necessary to perform the Services, comply with legal obligations, or for purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including:

 Publicly Displayed Information: Certain information may be publicly displayed on the Site and App as defined in Section 1.

 Linked Third-Party Services: If you choose to connect with a third-party service (e.g. Google sign-in, Sellers, Networks, API Users), the service provider may receive information that you or Good Market share with them. Connecting with these services is optional. You should understand the privacy and security practices of any third party before you share information with them.

 Employees and Contractors: Good Market shares personally identifying information only with those employees and contractors that need to know that information to provice Services and have agreed not to disclose it to others.

 Authorities and Regulators: Good Market shares personally identifying information to comply with applicable laws or regulations, court orders, subpoenas, legal process or government requests.

 Transfer of Information

 Good Market operates globally. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information will be moved outside of your home country. Please be aware that the privacy laws and standards in certain countries, including the rights of authorities to access your personally identifying information, may differ from those that apply in the country in which you reside.

Since no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, Good Market is not able to guarantee absolute security or assume liability for unlawful or unauthorized disclosure of personally identifying information.

Cookies set by the website owner are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called third-party cookies. The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.

Good Market does not rent or sell data and does not use third-party cookies for advertising, marketing, or social networks. Your activity is not tracked across multiple websites.

Good Market uses first-party cookies for account and user preferences, security, and authentication. This includes:

• Recognizing you each time you return to Good Market
• Enabling you to stay logged in and access Services
• Remembering your preferences for viewing Good Market including language, location, and currency
• Enabling you to add listings to the cart without being logged in
• Enabling you to securely complete transactions
• Maintaining the security, safety, and integrity of the Site

6. Your Rights and Choices

Certain privacy laws around the world provide users with rights and choices related to their personally identifying information. Consistent with those laws, Good Market gives you the choice of accessing, editing, or removing certain information, as well as choices about how Good Market contacts you.

 You can access, edit, and remove account information through your Good Market account page(s). 

 You can request updates to enterprise profile paragraphs by sending a help chat message or contacting hello@goodmarket.global.

 You can edit and delete forum and feedback content using the editing tools associated with that content.

 You may remove access to precise location data through your browser or device settings. 

 You may remove and reject cookies through your browser settings. If you remove or reject cookies, it could affect how the Services work for you.

 You may click the Unsubscribe or Update Preferences links on marketing emails to opt out of marketing emails. You may still receive non-marketing emails as long as you have an active account. Certain communications from Good Market are service related or legally required.

 You may deactivate your account and delete your information by sending a help chat message or sending an email to hello@goodmarket.global. Please note that Good Market may need to retain some information, like transaction records, for recordkeeping purposes, to comply with legal obligations, or to protect the safety, security, rights, and integrity of Good Market.

7. Your Responsibilities

If you are a Seller, a Network, or an API User that collects and uses personally identifying information through the Services, you have privacy responsibilities and legal obligations as an independent data controller. For example, if a Seller discloses a buyer’s personally identifying information, the Seller, not Good Market, is responsible for that unauthorized disclosure.

 If Good Market is sued, fined, or otherwise incurs expenses because of something that you did or failed to do as a data controller of personally indentifying information, then you agree to defend and indemnify Good Market in accordance with Section 7 of the Terms of Use.

8. Privacy Policy Changes

Good Market may amend or update this Privacy Policy. If the changes are material, an email or message will be sent to all accounts. Good Market encourages users to check back regularly and review updates. Your use of the Services constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
